Fruit Cereal

Warning: Too much fruit causes.....HEALTH!

Summer and Color are complementary therefore I tend to exhibit that fact in my daily meals. Waking up to a beautiful summer morning and stretching to the thought of a "perfect" breakfast can sometimes be overwhelming. Not to worry I AM HERE TO SAVE THE DAY with a nutritious bowl of FRUIT CEREAL. Somebody is busy trying to stay healthy and would also like to take you on that journey. The most amazing thing about eating healthy is the fact that it is a win win. You wake up so jaunty, feeling so light and cheerful and smiling to the beautiful colors on your plate. Who wouldn't like such an ebullient feeling in the morning. Another brilliant fact is, you know the exact ingredients that are contained in your meals. I hope we adopt it as a lifestyle and less of a trend. Now lets get down to business foodies!!..

Fruit Cereal:

Ingredients: for salad
  • 3 -5 ripe strawberries
  • Half red apple
  • Half green apple
  • 1/2 cup of green grapes
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1/2 cup of nature valley protein granola
  • 1/2 cup of planters cashew nuts
  • 3 Tablespoons of Vanilla extract

Note: You can decide to switch up the fruits I used if you happen not like any of them. For instant, strawberries can be replaced with blue or blackberries, grapes for seedless cherries etc.

Direction: Cashew Milk
  • Soak the measured cashew in a bowl of water for 4-5 hours to soften. This would help achieve a smooth texture when blended.

  • Pour 2 cups of water into a blender, add the softened cashew nuts, vanilla extract and blend until a smooth texture is reached. (The quantity of water required depends on the texture of the milk you prefer. I added just 2 cups because I love it creamy however, feel free to go with your measurements on this.)

  • Pour into a bowl or a storing jar until ready to use.

Prep: Fruit Cereal
  • Properly wash both hands.
  • Cut the apples into chunks and place in a clean bowl
  • Slice the bananas and place in a clean bowl.
  • Wash the strawberries, grapes and slice (if preferred).
Directions: Salad
  • Place the clean serving bowl on the preparation table.
  • Pour the sliced apples, strawberries, banana and grapes.
  • Add your protein granola, pour the cashew milk and stir.
  • Now get a fork and enjoy this nutritious bowl of healthiness. (Don't get addicted :))
  • Bon Appetit!

"Although cashews are one of the lowest-fiber nuts, they are packed with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. These include vitamins E, K, and B6, along with minerals like copper, phosphorus, zinc, magnesium, iron, and selenium, all of which are important for maintaining good bodily function".
